The twining trend is strong in this issue. I need to see the line drawings for this – it looks like a futuristic shirt dress. I have a weakness for funnel neck sweaters so I automatically love this. That utility belt though! The layering is string with this one! I really like this huge housecoat without sleeves. Gorgeous! Cute sixties style bow detail at the back. See how much nicer the dress looks in a deep blue damask below. The girls pinafore is beyond cute! The colour is gorgeous but I think the fabric doesnt work as well for this style as it shows up all the drag lines. Blue denim and mustard topstitching are a classic look. Interesting dress which I like in principle but I am an unsure about the way it flutes at the hem. I can see this being a quick project and requires fabric that can shine on its own because of the simple design lines. The fabric used for this drapey top is beautiful. All the jewel tones are gorgeous! The emerald green elongated bomber jacket with built in scarf is lovely. The purple twin set looks interesting – I like the v neck with button front combo. This reminds of Dawson’s Creek for some reason. There is wonderful use of textures here, smooth silk with rough boiled wool. I am loving the futuristic Blade Runner in pastel vibe I get from this collection. The grey shift dress is a bit too school girl for me but that might be the fabric. The burgundy sweater dress catches my eye as doe the yoked skirt. A decent collection of fall classic styles. You’ll find denim looks, exotic prints, pieces singing praises to the color green, and fun, modern patterns. BURDASTYLE 11/20 Preview One for the canines! This is a first for me – I have never seen Burda do this before. The newest issue of Burda Style is available in shops this Friday, January 15th 2021 February offers a plethora of fun models to sew. Jump to Burdastyle 5/21 Line Drawings Burdastyle 11/2020 Technical Drawings The plan is to wear it with thick roll neck tops and my standard fleece M&S thermals. I will be adding pockets to this dress and making it one size larger so that it will be a layering garment.

The shirtdress will be made in a black and pink floral viscose (also from Fabrics for All). I traced out one size bigger as I want the cardigan to be extra roomy. The fabric is a lovely thick felted knit reversible coating from Fabrics for All. The idea is to sew it from a neutral (navy blue) and I can wear it over most of my winter looks. The long cardigan works perfectly for my winter outfit capsule that I am building.

Here we go! My Burda 11/2020 Sewing Plans Burda 11/2020 looks to be keeping up the good work set up by the September and October issues. The first looks always get me quite excited if only for the anticipation of whether I will like it or not. It’s that time of the month again when Burda teases us with what’s to come in the future so our sewing plans can be tweaked/sped up/discarded to make time for potentially new exciting projects.
